Chinese authorities are struggling to contain the environmental and economic damage of a major oil spill in the Yellow sea which began last Friday.<br />
<H3>NETWORK CONNECTION</H3><br />
It seems that this day and age the earth is rife with <a href="http://matadorchange.com/60-minutes-exposes-chevrons-environmental-atrocity-in-the-amazon">environmental destruction</a>. What can one person do in the face of <a href="http://matadorchange.com/the-bp-oil-spill-is-turning-into-a-catastrophe">such disasters</a>? I think the first and most important thing the individual can do is<a href="http://matadortravel.com/travel-forums"> engage in discussion</a> and actively face the reality of the situation. Changing your purchasing habits,<a href="http://matadorchange.com/category/free-volunteer-opps"> volunteering</a>, giving money to environmental agencies and pressuring our elected officials are among the actions that are immediately available to the average person.<br />
And when the oil washes up on your beach? You roll up your sleeves and use your bare hands.<br />

The worlds drugs often come from the poorest countries. Traveling through these regions you can certainly be <a href="http://www.bravenewtraveler.com/2008/01/18/tripping-out-on-the-road-drugs-alcohol-and-travel/">exposed to temptation</a> and danger, read <a href="http://www.bravenewtraveler.com/2009/08/20/cocaine-bars-a-latin-american-adventure-or-playing-with-fire/">Cocaine Bars: A Latin American Adventure or Playing with Fire?</a> for Matador founder Ross Borden&#8217;s thoughts on Bolivia&#8217;s drug culture. If you find it hard to be good, <a href="http://www.bravenewtraveler.com/2008/07/21/5-ways-travelers-can-avoid-being-caught-with-drugs/">then be careful</a>,you certainly don&#8217;t want to <a href="http://matadorpulse.com/british-nigerian-traveler-accused-of-drug-trafficking-in-laos/">get caught with drugs abroad</a>. However, if more countries <a href="http://matadorpulse.com/mexico-passes-drug-legalization-law/">follow Mexico&#8217;s lead and legalize</a>&#8230;then getting caught won&#8217;t be an issue!</p>
