WHAT/WHERE
Chinese authorities are struggling to contain the environmental and economic damage of a major oil spill in the Yellow sea which began last Friday.

It seems that this day and age the earth is rife with environmental destruction. What can one person do in the face of such disasters? I think the first and most important thing the individual can do is engage in discussion and actively face the reality of the situation. Changing your purchasing habits, volunteering, giving money to environmental agencies and pressuring our elected officials are among the actions that are immediately available to the average person.
And when the oil washes up on your beach? You roll up your sleeves and use your bare hands.
